Budapest, 4 October 2022. –The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) in cooperation with the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary launches study competition open to law students and PhD students of the countries of the Visegrad Group. The deadline for applications is 28 February 2023.
A special feature of this year's renewed study competition is that the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights has taken the competition to an international level. The competition is open to law students and PhD students from any law faculty of any university in the countries of the Visegrad Group. Entries received by the deadline will be judged by an international jury of experts from the V4 countries, including professors of competition law.
The competition offers law students and PHD students a choice of 8-8 topics in the fields of competition law and fundamental rights. Essays can be submitted until 28 February 2023 and the award ceremony – following the evaluation – will take place in Budapest next spring. The award conference is organised by the Alliance for Fundamental Rights Foundation. In addition to the prize, the authors of the winning entries will also have the opportunity to publish their work in a special edition of the Competition Mirror (Versenytükör), the professional journal of the Hungarian Competition Authority.
