The GLOBUS Canning Factory Ltd (hereinafter: GLOBUS) planned to buy 53,3 per cent share in Csaba Canning Factory Ltd (hereinafter: Csaba) to acquire control over it.
Within the group of canned products, as relevant products, GLOBUS has major shares (between 11,2 and 56,2 per cent) on the market of the group of canned meal, meat, tomato and pickles, while Csaba has significant shares (3,3 and 6,8 per cent respectively) mainly on the market of canned vegetable and fruit. On the market of the leading products of GLOBUS the concentration would be unchanged. It would change, however, on the market of the canned vegetable and fruit where the joint market share would increase by 6,0 and 15,8 per cent respectively. Considering the large number of domestic producers and the rather significant share of import products these low joint shares do not establish the creation of a dominant position.
The Competition Council authorised the transaction.
