The Ministry of Economy and Transport determines Hungarian economic policy. To mention some of the several tasks of the Ministry, it endeavours to smooth the way for foreign investments, focuses on the development of transport infrastructure, facilitates the spread of information technology, encourages research and development and strengthens the position of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
The aim of the cooperation agreement is to harmonise the activities of the two authorities in the interest of an efficient economic policy. The GVH offers its opinion about the elaborated concepts of the economic policy and about the transport sector from a competition law perspective. Furthermore, the authority analyses the decisions and concepts relating to the liberalisation of the electricity and gas energy markets in order to protect fair competition and consumers' welfare.
