The gala dinner on 21 October will be accompanied by a gala performance entitled "Competition of Voices". The gala event will take place in the Pesti Vigadó, which has been the venue for a wide variety of social events since its inauguration in 1865. The European Competition Day gala event will showcase the cultural diversity that characterises Europe, the peoples of the Carpathian Basin and Hungary. In the homelands of Ferenc Liszt, Zoltán Kodály, Béla Bartók and Béla Szakcsi Lakatos, music and musical literacy play a significant role and are internationally recognised.

The gala evening will feature a musical evolution, encompassing folk motifs and modern compositions. This evolution would see the transformation of ancient Hungarian folk melodies into classical music and jazz. These three musical elements would not be constrained by national boundaries, demonstrating a shared cultural identity through the utilisation of other peoples' melodies. This would symbolise the sense of acceptance and belonging to the European community felt by participants from the Member States and the acceding countries.
