4 December 2020, Budapest – The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) has won the title of ‘Family-Friendly Workplace’ in a tender announced by the Ministry of Human Resources. With this title, the Ministry recognised not only the past achievements of the GVH in becoming a family-friendly workplace but its future development plans as well.
The aim of the tender announced by the Ministry was to support family-friendly workplace programmes striving to establish and improve family-friendly workplaces, which help maintain a healthy work-life balance and facilitate the reconciliation of private, family, and workplace obligations.
The GVH has already provided its staff with numerous opportunities for finding the appropriate balance between their work and family life, regardless of which stage of their career or private life they are in. However, the tender of the Competition Authority, which was submitted under the motto “GVH – not just your workplace”, took into account not only the results that the GVH had achieved in creating a family-friendly workplace so far but several new family-oriented innovations as well, which the Authority had incorporated into its continuous development plans. These include, among others, the introduction of a family day and the development of child-friendly workstations at the GVH, where our staff would even be able to work alongside their children and perform their tasks in a calm and harmonious environment. In addition, an electronic information leaflet is provided to employees who are looking to start a family or already have one, which summarises the family-friendly discounts and benefits provided by the GVH and the Hungarian State.
The GVH did not request financial support within the framework of the tender; however, by virtue of winning, it has become eligible to use the title of ‘Family-Friendly Workplace’, which it will be displaying proudly in the future.
